What is a Tubular Battery?

Tubular Batteries use Tubular Positive plates and the usual lead acid battery uses Flat pasted plates for the Positive Electrode. The Spine grid, casted on a high pressure die casting machine, is a series of spines usually 15 or 19 connected at one end by a busbar. The spines are made of lead and located centrally, inserted into a tubular bag or pluri tubular bag which is a woven fabric technically and chemically suited for working in the acid environment. The setup is filled with oxides of lead and locked on the open end with a plastic bar.
Tubular design is more advantageous as the plate will not shed during the service life of the battery. As the spine is enclosed in the active mass, corrosion does not occur as fast as in the flat pasted plate, thus contributing to more number of charge discharge cycles and is the ideal choice where number of cycles are critical in selection of the right battery for the application.
What is a TGEL VRLA Battery? Tubular Gel Valve Regulated lead Acid Battery are lead acid batteries with tubular positive plates for cyclic applications and it is sealed for its service life and are maintenance free. The Gel is manufactured in a secret recipe with German technology, where the electrolyte is jellified in a fumed silica base. The design allows for the recombination of Oxygen inside the cell to form water which goes back into the reaction to generate power. These are rechargeable Lead Acid Battery banks used for power backup as a battery bank in Solar, Telecom, Data centers, and Standby applications. High Tech Batteries.

TUBULAR POSITIVE PLATE for deep cycling capabilities

Specially designed Calcium lead alloys are used for positive TUBULAR SPINE GRIDS. These are cast at 150 bars pressures ensuring better compaction and packing of lead in the spines, to eliminate corrosion. The addition of optimum levels of Tin, Calcium, Aluminum along with Microtex proprietary special grain refiners ensure a high performance positive plate resistant to grid corrosion and growth.
Computer designed grids ensure lowest internal resistance and ensure the current is quickly carried from the grids to the terminal.
The special alloys prevent water loss and enhance the recombination effect inside the cell in usage, this ensures the gel does not dry out.
Specially formulated Silica Gel electrolyte completely encapsulates the plates. This provides an abundant resource of electrolyte during the service life of the Gel battery. The AGM VRLA battery on the other hand, has the available electrolyte in the separators which act like a sponge and absorbs the acid acting like a reservoir. The AGM VRLA battery is working under a starved electrolyte condition.

  • Specially designed Pressure Release Vent Valves with flame arrestor, operate with high precision, releasing and closing the vent valve in the shortest time & prevent accidental ingress of unwanted air & to effectively transport oxygen from the positive plate to the negative plate through the pressure assisted transport mechanism. These plugs are like the heart and are critical for a long service life of the VRLA cell. This vent valve plug shall never be opened during the service of the sealed maintenance free VRLA battery.
